Quad Cities Chapter Meeting – November

In November, the Quad Cities Chapter is focusing on the Environmental side of the safety profession! Please join Dan Nickey, the Associate Director at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) – located at the University of Northern Iowa, for an engaging presentation geared toward the E in EHS. Dan Nickey, Associate Director

Iowa Waste Reduction Center

Dan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Wesley College and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Drake University.  He is also a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, and a LEED Accredited Professional.

As the Associate Director of the IWRC, Mr. Nickey assists in managing a Center with an annual budget of approximately 2.6 million dollars that assists and educates Iowa small businesses to comply with environmental regulations and increases their environmental sustainability. During his tenure at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center, he has been the Chairman of the National Steering Committee of State Small Business Environmental Assistance Programs and has been a member of multiple state and national policy committees.  In his career, he has presented at national and international conferences on various environmental sustainability topics.
